School - Park Experience I and II

Park Experience comprises two types of activities, namely "Park Experience I" and "Park Experience II". Both activities last for 2 hours from September 2008 to mid-July 2009. It provides an opportunity for participants to explore the versatile biodiversity of wetlands.

Park Experience I (PEI)



Date: Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (except public holidays)

Time:
AM session: 10:00-12:00 or
PM session 14:00-16:00

Number of participants: A group of 10 ¡V 45 participants; Ratio of Wetland Park Interpreter to participants is about 1:25.

Content:
It includes an outdoor field study along a designated itinerary and an indoor activity for recapturing the key points during the outdoor study. The itineraries and activities are arranged subject to the topics designed for different forms of students. Topics are as follows.

Application method:

  3. The applicant will receive another e-mail from Hong Kong Wetland Park which states the result of application within 7 working days after the date of application.

Application period: 3 months to 2 weeks prior to the date of visit. For example: to join Park Experience I on 21/5/2009, the application period is from 22/2/2009 to 7/5/2009.

Park Experience II (PEII)

Date: Every Thursday (except public holidays)

Time:
AM session: 10:00-12:00 or
PM session 14:00-16:00

Number of students:

  • A group of 100 ¡V 192 participants, and 8 teachers or teaching assistants (TA)
  • Each group of 25 students should be supervised by one teacher or TA
  • The total number of participants can not exceed 200. The ratio of Wetland Park interpreter to participants is about 1:50

Content:
The activity starts with an introductory film entitled "Where wonders begin ¡V our wetlands", and follows with a general guided visit in our Wetland Reserve. Participants are divided into 4 groups, and led by Wetland Interpreters throughout the whole visit.

Notes:

  1. For Park Experience I, we accept two applications in each session and each school can apply for a maximum of two tours on the same date of visit.
  2. For Park Experience II, we only accept one application in each session, and each school can apply for one tour on the same date of visit.
  3. Itineraries of both PEI and PEII activities would NOT cover all facilities in the park. We suggest the group to have a self-guided visit in the galleries and outdoor wetland reserve within the opening hours.

  5. All scheduled activity will be cancelled if Hong Kong Observatory announces that Red or Black rainstorm warning, thunderstorm warning, tropical cyclone warning No. 8 or above is in effect.
  6. If inclement weather warning, including the thunderstorm warning, rainstorm warning (amber, red or black) and tropical cyclone warning No. 3 or above.is in effect, all outdoor trips will be switched to indoor gallery visit.
  7. Hong Kong Wetland Park reserves all rights regarding Park Experience programme.
