School - Park Experience I and II

Going to plan and enjoy a learning activity out of the classroom?

"Park Experience" is a guided visit programme designed for schools that allows students to gain more knowledge on wetland ecology, as well as the relationship between human and wetlands. In this programme, our wetland interpreters will guide students to visit various thematic zones in the park. With the aid of videos, lectures or games, students will gain more interest in the specific topics.

Participants may choose for "Park Experience I" or "Park Experience II". The duration of each activity is 2 hours.

Park Experience I (PEI)

Thematic learning tours are designed for different levels of students. The content of each tour includes guided visit and classroom activity.

Targets: Kindergarten, primary school and secondary school students

Date: Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (except public holidays)

Time:
AM session: 10:00-12:00 or
PM session 14:00-16:00

Number of participants: The total no. of participants should be 12-50 (including 10-45 students and 2-5 teachers)

Language: Cantonese or English

Details of activities:

Make friends with Wetland Animals (K.1 to K.3)
Explore the wonderful nature and learn the correct attitudes towards nature conservation
Contact with Wetlands (P.1 to P.3)
Learn more about the animals and plants in different wetlands and equip themselves with better observation skills in the wild
Wetland Products and our Daily Life (P.4 to P.6)
Visit different wetlands and learn more about the relation between wetlands and our daily life
Lively wetlands (S.1 to S.3)
Visit different wetlands and learn about the diversity and the adaptation mechanism of various wetland organisms
Conserve our Wetlands (S.4 to S.7)
Learn the basic skills of field investigation and understand the importance of wetland conservation

Application method:

Application Quota: Each school can apply for maximum of two Park Experience I (and Learning at Wetlands) tours on the same date of visit.

Application period: 3 months to 2 weeks prior to the date of visit. For example: to join Park Experience I on 2/4/2012, the application period is from 3/1/2012 to 19/3/2012.

Park Experience II (PEII)

Targets: Primary school and secondary school students

Date: Every Thursday (except public holidays)

Time:
AM session: 10:00-12:00 or
PM session 14:00-16:00

Number of students:

A group of 100 – 192 participants, and 8 teachers or teaching assistants (TA)
Each group of 25 students should be supervised by one teacher or TA
The total number of participants can not exceed 200. The ratio of Wetland Park interpreter to participants is about 1:50
