Even though Hong Kong is small, it has a precious Ramsar wetland. Every winter, the Mai Po and Inner Deep Bay Ramsar Site are home to many wintering birds. Among these wintering birds, the globally endangered Black-faced Spoonbill is the most famous one.
"Black-faced Spoonbill Artwork Collection" activity encourages students and public to use used materials to create a Black-faced Spoonbill model to illustrate the elegance and interesting habits of this star of conservation in Hong Kong.

Outstanding masterpieces will be selected according to their level of reality, conservation message delivered, and material used. Selected masterpieces will be displayed from the end of January to February 2010 at the Viewing Gallery in Hong Kong Wetland Park.

About 50 Black-faced Spoonbill models created by waste materials from public, schools, and organisations are displayed at "Birds and Wetlands Art Gallery" at Corridor of Viewing Gallery in Hong Kong Wetland Park from 20 January to 1 March 2010. For details, please click here.
